Nothing smells better than cookies baking in the oven! I love making cookies.
The word cookie is derived from the Dutch word koekje or (informal) koekie which means little cake.
The reason why I love making cookies is that with simple ingredients like flour, butter, sugar and sometimes egg, you get a wonderful snack or a sweet treat that requires no effort and is ready in a jiffy!

But the best part is that you can spruce up the humble cookie and give it a gourmet touch by adding ingredients like spices, candied peels, citrus zest, chocolate, nuts, peanut butter or dry fruits!
I usually make simple round cookies but sometimes make fancy shapes for my 3 year old niece and my 2 year old neighbour!
