A ham and cheese pizza is something we make on the ship very often. It is wonderfully delicious appetizer which if served with a soup can also double as main course!
It is not one of the healthiest appetizers I have made but a slice every once in a while is allowed, don't you think? ;-)
Here is the recipe
Prepartion time: 1 hour
Cooking time: 12-15 minutes
Serves: 8-10
Ingredients
For the dough
2 Cups Flour
3 tsp Dry Yeast
1 tbsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Salt
Lukewarm water
For the topping
1 Cup cold cuts ( ham, sausage, salami etc..)
1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese
1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Tsp Dried Oregano
2 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
Procedure
Add sugar and yeast to 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Keep aside for 5-7 minutes till frothy.
Mix flour and salt together and make a well in the centre.
Add the yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough using lukewarm water.
Cover the dough and keep it aside for an hour to double in size.
Knead the dough again and spread onto a flat baking tray.
Prick it with a fork all over.
Spread the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Now spread chopped cold cuts all over.
Sprinkle oregano and pepper.
Drizzle olive oil.
Bake in a preheated oven at 210 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Slice and serve warm.
Enjoy!
